ERGC

The Employee Resource Group Council (ERGC)

The ten Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at LaRC – the Allies and Advocates for Women (A2W), Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI),Black Employee Strategy Team (BEST), Employees Enabled and Empowered (EEE), Hispanic Employee Advisory Committee (HEAC), LGBTQ Employee Alliance Group (LEAG), Langley Emerging and Advancing Professionals (LEAP), Mentoring Employees to Realize Goals and Experiences (MERGE), Promoting Agency Cross-Center Connections (PAXC), and Veteran’s Information Support Network (VISN) – officially chartered an ERG Council (ERGC) through support of the Langley Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity (ODEO) and the Equal Opportunity & Diversity and Inclusion Council (EO/D&I Council). The purpose of the ERGC is to serve as a leadership board for all Center ERGs, providing an avenue for ERG Leadership to partner directly with the LaRC EO/D&I Council, ODEO, Center’s Office of Director, and Center Leadership Council.

The ERGs on Center have a significant connection with and influence on LaRC employees and feel the ERGC can make a significant impact in supporting NASA’s mission. The ERGC will be able to highlight issues amongst multiple diverse groups at LaRC and can aid in providing employees a safe space at work. The ERGC supports the NASA mission by promoting networking across ERGs and connecting to more diverse groups across Center. Currently, the ERGC collectively communicates with more than 680 distinct individuals throughout LaRC. This connection will increase employee engagement, sharing of ideas, and collaboration. By providing a safe environment, employees will work better together and increase productivity, thereby improving mission success. ERGC collaboration will encourage employees from diverse groups to participate in ERG events while ensuring no overlap, increasing employee participation. By coordinating directly with ODEO, EO/D&I Council, and our Center Leadership, the ERGC will continue to ensure that both LaRC and NASA are happy and healthy places to work so all employees can perform their best work.

Collectively A2W, BEST, EEE, HEAC, LEAG, LEAP, MERGE, PAXC, VISN and the Employee Resource Group voted to elect  Prenthis Aguilar (D208) as the 2023-2025 ERGC Chair and Danielle May (B101) to serve as the 2022-2024 ERGC Chair.
