Senior Contracting Officer –  Procurement Operations Division

Ms. Nylsevalis Ortiz-Collazo began her career with NASA in 2002 as a summer intern for at the Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland where she provided support to Flight Projects Directorate. In September 2002, Nylse became a Contract Specialist under the Office for Institutional Programs in the Procurement Operations Division. She helped to procure and administer support services contracts.

After leaving the Office for Institutional Programs in 2008, Nylse became the Contracting Officer for the Mechanical Systems Engineering Services (MSESII) contracts and supported hardware, research & development, and services procurements required by Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate. In this capacity, Nylse supported a variety of GSFC missions and Sciences & Earth Sciences programs throughout GSFC.

In 2009, Nylse became a Senior Contracting Officer supporting the Hubble Space Telescope and the Space Science Telescope Institute contracts. In addition, Nylse had actively participated in a variety of GSFC committees and Agency wide initiatives such as the GSFC New Employee Welcoming Board, the GSFC Buddy Program, the Agencywide Contract Management Module, and the GSFC MD-715 Class Action Settlement Team.

Educational Background:

Nylse grew up in Carolina, Puerto Rico, received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus and her MBA from Loyola University in Maryland.
